When first starting the review process, you must choose a book. Using School Library Journal, Booklist, and other professional review magazines provided by Mrs. Ross, you will read many reviews of young-adult literature and non-fiction. Based on reviews, you will choose one and will try to persuade the library to order that book.




A month or so later, when the books arrive, Mrs. Ross will meet with the class, hand out books, and discuss an evaluation sheet that she will provide that will help you evaluate the quality of your book based on many criteria. You will then read the book, take notes on it using a sheet provided in class, use Mrs. Ross's checklist, and eventually write a review of your book.
